The Julie Ruin Concert Poster

Large-format promotional poster created for a small show at the "The Loving Touch" in Ferndale, Michigan.

The Julie Ruin is an eclectic rock / electro pop band headlined by the legendary Kathleen Hanna.

Their sound is very unique. The lyrics seem to play in direct opposition to the happy, pop sound that the band emits. I wanted to play on this feeling by creating imagery that was a little odd and stange, but yet feminine and inviting.

I created the vector portaits through a series of layered shapes created individually. No filters were used in the creation of this poster.
